Player’s Code of Conduct

By participating in Bow United Soccer activities, I agree:

A.  I will not openly criticize the decisions of coaches or officials and accept them as part of the give-and-take of life.

B. I will never attempt to injure or hurt anyone even if they hurt me first.

C. I will not use foul or abusive language, nor use inappropriate gestures during any practice or game.

D.  I will not criticize any player while on or off the field. Instead, I will encourage teammates to play better by complimenting their good play and by providing helpful suggestions on how to play better.

E. I will not forget that soccer is a game and not a life and death struggle. I will keep control of my emotions regardless of who wins or loses.

F.  I will arrive to practices and games on-time and ready to play.  This means with uniform, shoes, shin guards, socks, ball, and the often forgotten water bottle.

G.  I understand that when I practice with my team or anytime I wear my uniform, I represent my team, soccer club, and my town and I am expected to behave accordingly.

H.  I understand that if I fail to behave appropriately, I may be disciplined, suspended or removed from the team.

I hereby agree to this code of conduct.

Parent’s Code of Conduct

PLEASE NOTE:  The league in which your child plays holds your child’s coach responsible for your behavior.  Inappropriate or hostile behavior in the stands towards referees, players, or other parents might result in the removal of your child from the team or could result in the coach or team being removed from future league play.  Please set a good example for your kids!

By participating in Bow United Soccer activities, I agree:

A.  that I will not openly criticize the decisions of coaches or officials and accept them as part of the give-and-take of life. A child soon loses admiration for a coach or an official if his/her parents feel they discriminate against him/her.

 B. to remember the coaches are volunteers. They give significant amounts of time so your child can develop and play. I will treat them with respect even when I might not agree with them.

 C. to come to the games with my child and encourage him/her and their teammates. It means a lot to a child to have someone “out there” watching.  Applaud good effort by the players and let the coach point out the mistakes.

 D. that I will not condone loud or abusive language and gestures during a game.  Remember, a child imitates, sometimes without thinking.

 E.  to not criticize any player while on or off the field. Do you like to hear disparaging remarks about your child while you sit in the stands?

 F. that I will not yell instructions to the players.   If you do, you disrupt the lessons and game tactics that coaches try to instill in the players.

 G. to not forget that a soccer game is a form of recreation and not a life and death struggle. Keep a rein on your emotions regardless of who wins or loses.

 H.  to provide transportation to and from all practices and games ensuring that the player is prompt not only in arriving but in his/her departure.  I will notify my child’s coach if my child is unable to attend a practice or game.

 I. to pay my fees and complete requested paperwork promptly to secure my child’s team placement.  It’s not fair to ask your child’s coach to front payments.

 J. to allow my child to be a child.  Soccer should be a fun way to learn more about the ups and downs of life.  We should allow them to enjoy their successes and learn from their mistakes.

I hereby agree to this code of conduct.
